I used to help internet fraudsters in their activities – Kalybos confesses
Kalybos said most of his friends and age mates were exposed to internet fraud while growing up. According to him, he offered help to fraudsters who operated within the cyberspace, but he was unaware of the consequences of his action.
Kalybos reportedly made these revelations in an interview with Hitz FM. Asked how he got involved in their activities, Kalybos disclosed that his father was among a privileged few who owned a computer at the time. According to him, he learnt the basics of operating a computer due to the availability of one at home. “Growing up, my age mates were exposed to internet fraud. This internet scam”, he said, “my dad was enthused with new technology. So we had a computer at home. I could say my area we were one of the few guys that had a computer,” Kalybos said.
The actor recounts that fraudsters began approaching him for assistance which he offered. “Some of them actually walked up to me to tell me, ‘this thing you are doing do you know you can earn more money from it?’ Gradually I was clinching to these kinds of guys,” he narrated. Kalybos added that at a point, he realized that he was being used by these unscrupulous individuals to engage in illegalities. This, he said, prompted him to run to Jesus so as to disassociate himself from the internet fraudsters, though it was not easy for him because they were his good friends. “My walk with Jesus was revived after I took a step to disassociate myself from the internet fraudsters though breaking off from them was not easy because I had spent most of my childhood days with them,” Kalybos confessed.
By his narration, Kalybos indicated that he was also doing the 'sakawa' job with the friends and earning money, however, he stopped and now he is a proud movie star. The ‘Boys Kasa’ series star has been in the news following a statement he made about his friend and colleague, Ahuofe Patri. Kalybos, who had long professed love for Ahuofe, recently begged her to “give him a chance” [to date] like Tiwa Savage and Wizkid did.
